Individual Therapy for Tunbridge Wells

Continuity, Not a Rotating Team

Tunbridge Wells has genuine choice for individual therapy, including several multi-therapist practices. One thing worth knowing before you choose: at a larger practice, you’re often matched with whichever therapist has availability, and the specific person you work with isn’t always guaranteed session to session. Here, it’s always the same therapist — continuity throughout, not a rotating team.

Individual therapy offers a private, one-to-one space to work through anxiety, low mood, stress, or a difficult life transition — without needing a diagnosis or GP referral first. Sessions are delivered online for Tunbridge Wells clients, which several local practices note is just as effective as meeting in person and often easier to fit around a full week; in-person sessions are available on request at the Kings Hill practice.

OUR APPROACH

Our Approach to Individual Therapy for Tunbridge Wells Clients

Every person’s reasons for seeking therapy are different, and so is the right way to work through them. Our approach is integrative, drawing on:

1

Person-Centred Therapy

A non-directive approach built on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and trust in your own capacity for growth.

2

Psychodynamic Therapy

Exploring how past experiences and unconscious patterns shape present thoughts and behaviour.

3

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety or distress.

4

Attachment Theory

Understanding how early relationships shape how you relate to yourself and others now.

5

Transactional Analysis

Examining recurring patterns in how you interact with others.

6

Gestalt Therapy

Working with present-moment awareness and unresolved feelings.

7

Psychosexual Models

Addressing intimacy or sexual concerns directly, where relevant, rather than as separate.

Sessions are led by what you actually need: some clients want a structured, goal-oriented approach; others want an open space to think and process at their own pace — the approach adapts to you, not a fixed programme.
