Our Privacy Policy

Confidentiality

  • My consultations with you are strictly confidential.
  • I am bound by theCollege of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) Code of Ethics, which requires me to have regular clinical supervision. These consultations are also confidential.
  • If we happen to meet outside of our sessions (e.g., in public places), I will not acknowledge you unless you acknowledge me first. This is to protect your confidentiality.
  • I abide by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (2018)

Couples Therapy

  • In couples therapy, I work with both partners together and do not keep secrets from one partner to another.

Exceptions to Confidentiality

I may be required to breach confidentiality in the following circumstances:

  1. If I have serious concerns that you may harm yourself or another person.
  2. If children or vulnerable adults are at significant risk of harm, including sexual, physical, psychological, or financial abuse.
  3. If I become aware of acts of terrorism.
  4. If I become aware of drug or human trafficking.
  5. If I am subpoenaed by a court to provide evidence under oath.

Data Protection & Privacy

  • If you pay my fee by bank card, my name may appear on your bank statement.
  • Your personal information (name, address, email, phone number, medical history, etc.) is stored securely—either in a locked cabinet (for physical records) or protected by a password (for electronic records). Only I have access to this information.
  • I do not share any data about you with third parties.
  • In the event of my sudden incapacity to work, a professional executor will take responsibility for my clients. Your identity would only be disclosed to the executor, who is also bound by professional confidentiality standards.
  • I write brief session notes to track our discussions, but I do not include names or identifiable information. Only I have access to these notes.

Data Retention

  • I retain all records, including session notes, for seven years after the end of therapy. After this period, all data is permanently destroyed.

Medical Emergencies

  • If you fall ill during a consultation, I will contact emergency services and disclose your name, contact details, and any medications you take.

Communication

  • I will use your preferred methods of contact: e-mails, texts or phone calls. Please note that these methods are not secure, therefore we cannot guarantee complete confidentiality. It is best not to discuss or write personal or sensitive information on a text or in an e-mail.I will use your preferred method of contact (email, text, or phone). However, these methods are not entirely secure, so confidentiality cannot be fully guaranteed. It is best to avoid discussing sensitive information via text or email.
